I was always nervous about getting my bike out of our shed when I was little. The inside was so dark, and there were often crickets or bees that had decided to take residence inside. I wanted my bike, but I didn't want to get attacked in the process!

Sneak Peek
A sneak peek of a future comic strip. Here, I've added Zack to the Big Wheel drawing I made earlier in the week.

Character Sheet Color Test
One of my projects this morning: color testing a character sheet I've been working on for my current comic, Zzackback.

Zzackback Character Sheet Linework
Working on a character sheet of some potential new characters to be introduced into Zzackback.
The next step is to add color, documenting the color codes for each component. This will make it easier to recall and reuse the color palette for each character.

Zzackback 180606
Remembering a great moment of my childhood - the day my soon-to-be best friend moved in next door. With a lot in common, we were practically inseparable for years. Sadly, his father accepted a job on the west coast, and his family moved away around the time I was middle school.

Zzackback 180602 2
Rummaging through my drawings, I found this sketch of Zack with a Nerf rifle, and thought I'd add some color to it.
Zzackback 180602
Remembering kindergarten class, where I met the girl who I'd someday
marry. Can't believe we're about to celebrate 19 years of marriage together.

Zzackback 180425
This comic was inspired by my memories of playing basketball in P.E. class.
Whenever
the class played basketball, we'd shoot from the foul line first to
determine team captains. Whichever two students that made the shot first
would become a captain, then the two would take turns choosing their
team among the rest of the class. Though I wasn't much of an athlete,
thanks to the basketball hoop we had at home, I managed to get decent at
shooting from the foul line. Once, I ended up being the first to make
the shot in class. My initial reaction was excitement: “Oh boy, I’m a
team captain!” What I quickly learned, though, was that not too many
kids wanted to be on the team captained by a not-so-athletic student.
I
learned a valuable lesson that day – though it’s nice to know you have
the ability to be a team captain if you want, sometimes it’s wiser to
acknowledge someone is more qualified for the role, and maybe it’s a
little more altruistic to step aside and let that person take the role.

Practice Sketch 180417
Today's practice sketch is inspired from my memories of playing two-hand touch football with the other boys at recess. While not having a lot of speed, I was content to stay at the line and cover the quarterback. Boy, did I take that job seriously!

Random Sketch 180322
Random sketch: 180322
This is a drawing of the desk I've owned since I was a child. It may look odd with the drawers on the left (rather than on the right), but that's because it is a "lefty" desk.

Practice Sketch 180318
Practice Sketch: 180318
Remembering one of my favorite past times as a child...riding my bike! Granted, when I first learned to ride, I was limited to the street we grew up on, but once I was allowed to ride beyond our street, I rode all over town! I had so much fun exploring or neighborhood (and beyond)!
